FAA Accepting Applications for the Fourth Round of Aviation Workforce Development Grants
The FAA is currently accepting applications for the fourth round of the 2024 Aviation Workforce Development Grants for Aircraft Pilots and Aviation Maintenance Technical Workers. Applications are due electronically by February 5, 2025.
The grant program was resubscribed in the most recent FAA reauthorization bill and aims to develop and inspire a more diverse pool of pilots and aviation maintenance technicians to join the next generation of aviation professionals. This is the FAA’s fourth funding opportunity for these programs, and a total of $10 million is available for each of the two (pilot and maintenance) grants.
The FAA may award up to $1,000,000 (the ceiling established by legislation) for any one grant in any one fiscal year. Last year, the FAA awarded $13.5 million in grants to more than 30 schools and organizations.
The FAA will host a public information session to assist interested applicants on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. ET. This free live webinar will help potential applicants better understand the AWD grant programs and the requirements for applying for an AWD grant. Agenda topics will include an overview of the program, a walkthrough of each NOFO, and common mistakes to avoid. Register for the webinar here.
