Call for Volunteers: Help Shape the FAA Aviation Maintenance Handbooks!

ATEC is seeking input from community members to support the upcoming revisions to the FAA’s Aviation Maintenance Handbooks (**General 8083-30B, Airframe 8083-31B, and Powerplant 8083-32B**). This is a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise to materials that set the training and standards for aviation maintenance students and professionals nationwide.

Feedback Deadline: December 2

Get Involved: Volunteers can select specific chapters to review, allowing you to focus on areas where you have specialized knowledge.

How to Participate:

  1. Access the Materials: Request a link to the shared drive from crystal.maguire@atec-amt.org. Each handbook folder is organized by chapter and topic.
  2. Select Chapters: After choosing the chapters you wish to review, add your name to the relevant section in the *Handbook Reviewer Matrix* (Excel file on the shared drive).
  3. Provide Feedback: Track your recommended changes directly in the text and add comments as needed.

Review Process: Your feedback will be reviewed by ATEC’s regulatory committee before being submitted to the FAA ACS Working Group and, eventually, the FAA.

This is a significant undertaking, but with broad community support, we can make an impactful contribution to aviation maintenance training. Thank you in advance for your contributions.
