Professional Bio
Suzanne Markle is an education leader who specializes in strategies that bring together people, processes, and opportunities to grow and support a skilled workforce. Markle is the President and CEO of Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, an institution for aviation maintenance technology with campuses in PA, MD, OH, and SC. During her 24-year tenure with PIA, she has served in numerous functional areas including instruction, curriculum development, career services, and admissions. Markle serves on the board of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Career Schools, ATEC, and the Pennsylvania Board of Private Licensed Schools. From 2020-2022, she was an active contributor on the FAA Women in Aviation Advisory Board (WIABB). Markle holds an MBA from Seton Hill University, BS in education from California University of PA, and a certificate in diversity and inclusion from Cornell University. She is a member of the nomination committee for the National Aviation Hall of Fame and volunteers with various other organizations which support the aviation industry and our nation’s skilled workforce.
