Professional Bio

Dr. Tracy Yother currently teaches an undergraduate AET course in powerplant systems and a graduate course in process improvement. She possesses a B.S. and M.S. in Aviation Technology. Her doctorate is in Curriculum Studies in Education. She also holds an airframe and powerplant certificate. Dr. Yother has over 18 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry working for companies such as Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, and Pratt and Whitney. She has held positions in product support, program management, and new business development. Dr. Yother’s research interests include consensus standards in aviation maintenance curriculum, challenges and credentials of aviation maintenance faculty, and the use of APIs and natural language processing in aviation maintenance records. She has received a cooperative agreement from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for Standards Curricula Development Program to develop curriculum on electric propulsion standards in aviation.
